Cold Weather Combination
Railroads with locomotives in colder climates may be interested in an integrated SmartStart-DDHS (Diesel Driven Heating System by HOTSTART) solution. The AESS restarts the DDHS instead of the locomotive in certain colder ambient conditions, thereby saving additional fuel.
