Better performance. Diagnostic improvements.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - The ZTR Locomotive ELC (Electronic Load Regulator) is a low cost way for switcher locomotives to improve reliability and adhesion. Old load regulators in switcher locomotives can be difficult to maintain, durability is a constant issue, and quality spare parts are harder to find. The ZTR Locomotive ELC (Electronic Load Controller) replaces old load regulators, while also delivering performance and diagnostic improvements to make a difference in switcher operations.

“The Locomotive ELC and ELC-PEO are built on the ZTR Flex Platform,” said Dave Brooks, ZTR Product Development Manager. “The Flex Platform allows you to start with basic functionality and easily upgrade later.”

The Locomotive ELC is available in a basic excitation control system as well as ELC-PEO, a Performance Enhance Option featuring horsepower regulation by throttle, tractive effort improvement using adaptive targeting, intelligent sanding control and more.
